KARUNA TRAINING
in Contemplative Psychology
with teachers from Naropa University
Karuna Training offers a two-year core program in Contemplative Psychology. Based on these two years, participants can decide to do an advanced program with a focus on working with others. During this one year advanced program, the principles of Contemplative Psychology will be deepened and expanded in order to work more effectively with others, within the context of one's profession.
This unique program was founded in Boulder, Colorado in the 1970's by the well known Tibetan Buddhist meditation master Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Working intensively with Western psychologists, he combined insights of Buddhist Psychology with meditation and techniques of Western Psychology.
Karuna Training offers a powerful program based upon these insights and with a focus upon learning to communicate more effectively with others, while being open and completely present. We learn to become aware of what is happening both within ourselves and within the person with whom we are working. We also gain insight in the way our mind works, both in its clear and its confused manifestation.
Karuna Training is an international
training. The program is taught in English, and exercises are in English or
Dutch.
A new Karuna Training cycle starts in October 2009.
